Put the night sky map on your site
An interactive map of the sky from any place, at any time - planets, the Moon, constellations, meteor showers and the Space Station. Free for any site: paste in one line.
Add it
Paste this where you want the map, and change the place to yours:
<script src="https://map.stargazingforbeginners.co.uk/embed.js"
data-lat="51.4769" data-lon="-0.0005" data-place="Greenwich"
data-tz="Europe/London" async></script>
Or, where you can't add scripts (some website builders), an iframe:
<iframe src="https://map.stargazingforbeginners.co.uk/sky/#lat=51.4769&lon=-0.0005&place=Greenwich&tz=Europe/London"
title="Night sky map" width="100%" height="560" style="border:0" loading="lazy"
allow="geolocation; fullscreen; clipboard-write; web-share"></iframe>
Settings
All optional. Without a place the map shows London, until a visitor picks their own.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
data-lat, data-lon | The place, in degrees (north and east are positive) |
data-place | Its name, shown on the map |
data-tz | Its time zone, such as Europe/London or America/New_York, so times are local there |
data-height | Height in pixels: 380 to 1200 (560 if not given). It fills the width it's given. |
data-view | horizon for the view facing one way, with the ground below; the whole sky otherwise |
data-date, data-time | A night to show (2026-12-14) and the hour (21.5 is 9:30pm); now if not given |
data-obj | Something to open on the map, such as Jupiter or M31 |
For several maps on one page, add the script once, and a
<div data-sfb-sky data-lat="…" data-lon="…"></div> for each.
